AAMU, museum of contemporary Aboriginal art
Children aged four to twelve can pick up a special free bag at the reception desk. The bag contains a map, fun and instructive assignments and craft kits to help the children discover the museum. You can also take part in one of the monthly creative workshops or else celebrate your birthday in the AAMU.

Museum Catharijneconvent
There is a special event for all children from the age of four: Feast! Learn what you are celebrating. Children can actively and interactively discover the meaning of feasts, either on their own or with parents and grandparents. Besides key Christian feast days, children will learn about the feast days of other religions.

The Dom Tower
Throughout the year special activities take place in the Dom Tower, which focus on children from four to ten years old. How about climbing the tower with ‘William the Tower Watchman’? Or else learning all about the Dom Tower bells on the guided tour ‘Playing the bells’?

Sonnenborgh – museum & observatory
Interesting tests are carried out at Sonnenborgh and it will fascinate young and old. There are special star-gazing evenings in the school holidays and you can celebrate your birthday by going on a ‘Journey through Time’ or by taking an ‘Astronaut’s course’. There is a Young People’s Astronomy Course for children from eight to thirteen years of age.

In the MusicFactory children aged four to twelve can compose and play their own music box music. There are educative computer games and cartoons. When you arrive you are given a free ‘pling plong’ map or directions to follow for an invigorating hunt.

A bed of nails that is comfortable? Do you dare to put your hand in the sweetie box?
Nothing is as it seems in the Youth Lab. Go on the skeleton tour. Celebrating a birthday? Go in search of the Maffodokus or come and Xperiment in the scents and colours lab. Visit the University museum and see for yourself!

Railway Museum
This museum is a ball of fun for children. You can climb onto and aboard trains, there is a train simulator, a children’s train runs through the museum site and you can raft across the water. The theatre puts on lots of great shows suitable for adults as well as children.

dick bruna huis
Works by artist Dick Bruna are the main focus in the dick bruna huis. Not only are the famous drawings for his children’s books on display, but also book jacket designs and posters. The exhibition includes games for children to play. What’s more, there are explanations of work by Dick Bruna at children’s height.

Centraal Museum
Young or old, there is something for everyone in the Centraal Museum! In addition to various activities in the dick bruna huis, including reading afternoons and painting workshops, there are guided tours of the Rietveld Schröder house as well as an exhibition for children.
