for visitors
Knowledge and culture come alive in Utrecht museums. There are eleven unique Utrecht museums with a broad spectrum of collections that will take you by surprise. Each one of these museums will inspire you in a different manner because of the distinctive way they look at the world. What’s more, visiting a museum combines perfectly with a day trip or weekend in Utrecht. Every museum is just a stone’s throw from cosy café bars, charming hotels and B&Bs and, not to forget, great shops right in the heart of the alluring cityscape of Utrecht.
Public transport
The museums in Utrecht are all no further than a 15-minute walk from Utrecht Central Station. Bus number 2 leaves Central Station five times an hour for Museumkwartier (Museum Quarter), where most of the museums are situated. In addition, a special train leaves Utrecht Central Station once an hour to take visitors to the Railway museum.

Parking facilities
Because the museums are located in and around the historic inner city of Utrecht, it is not usually possible to park nearby. There are various car parks on the outskirts of the city centre. The Railway museum has its own car park and visitors to the Money museum can use the Jaarbeurs car park. You can also try the park and ride sites (P+R) outside the city centre. There are always parking spaces available and the cost of public transport to the city centre is included in the car park ticket.
